If you are not already familiar with Quora, it is an amazing website/app/forum which has created a community to share information. You might think, this sounds like a lot of social media applications, but Quora is special in the quality of content provided.
Today, I want to talk about the free sales advice that is readily available on Quora. Next time you have a sales question about cadence, pay structure, lead generation, etc - ask Quora. You will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
You can start by taking a look at a few of my B2B Sales answers like those below at https://www.quora.com/profile/Leslie-Venetz/answers/Sales
- Watch or read client testimonials. Hearing your clients talk about how valuable the product is naturally makes you feel more confident when sharing that message with a prospective client.
- If you don't have testimonials, call a long term and loyal client. Tell them that you believe in the product so much that you've decided to make it your full time job and you'd like to collect their insights. Ask them why they've stayed a client for so long, ask what their favorite thing is about your product, etc write those quotes down and use them to tell stories. You'll feel and sound more confident as a story teller.
- Stop thinking about the end goal. Break your fears about finances down. You know how much you need to survive, but instead of fussing on that outline the steps you need to get there. Track those smaller steps on a daily basis. It will make you feel more confident to have little victories on the way to your larger goal.
I would look at the cost difference of hiring a lead generator to do this for you versus using an outsourced service.
Generally, I've found the leads on most databases to have a flaw. Either it isn't the correct information or there is no helpful contact information. Even if they have those details correct, remember that leads bought from a database are likely those which are easiest found and therefore pitched most often. It might make getting your foot in the door more difficult depending on what you are selling.
